New York, NY – October 27, 2015 -– Stay Fly LLC announced today newcomer Tyler Riggs, Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Gone Girl), Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards, Louder Than Bombs) and Jocelin Donahue (Knight of Cups) will star in Sabyn Mayfield’s directorial debut, BOOMTOWN, a tale of a man with modern day oil fever.  This marks the first fictional film set against the Bakken Formation. Through the participation of locals and true stories, the film will introduce a fictional character into the non-fictional world of Williston, North Dakota, a town that has seen rapid growth due to the amount of oil it is producing. Co-written and produced by Sabyn Mayfield and David Newbert, the film is executive produced by Emmy Award winner, Laray Mayfield, and Thirty Tigers. Original music and score by John Moreland. The film will begin shooting in November on location in North Dakota.

BOOMTOWN follows one man's journey, John “JT” Turner (Tyler Riggs) to Williston, North Dakota, home of the modern day Gold Rush.  In an effort to make ends meet, he leaves his family behind to pursue a grueling, yet highly coveted, job in a now booming oil industry.  Along the way, he encounters the trials and tribulations shared by thousands of Americans every year as they stake their claim on the American Dream.  Jocelin Donahue plays Emma Turner, JT’s wife and mother of their infant son. Rachel Brosnahan plays Jaime, a bartender in town and Boyd Holdbrook plays JT’s childhood friend Dustin.

Filmmaker Sabyn Mayfield commented, “I’m honored to be directing my first feature film surrounded by such an amazing cast and crew. To have developed this project with my close friend and cinematography, David Newbert, and to be working with family, is a dream come true. We’ve put a tremendous amount of time and energy into telling an authentic story, that not only honors those who have ventured to Williston to try and make a better life for themselves, but also it’s life long residents.
