The 10 Most Pirated Movies of 2015

With the box office numbers we’ve seen this year for the likes of Jurassic World, Furious 7, and more recently, The Force Awakens, you might think that there’s no one out there illegally accessing movies online. (And yes, both streaming and downloading content that hasn’t been released by the studio that owns it is illegal. Just because you aren’t downloading it, doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong.) In addition to being a big box office year though, this has also been a huge year for leaked content. We just heard about award season screeners of movies like The Revenant and Joy being gobbled up online. It’s not just Oscar hopefuls that people snap up though. We’ve got the 10 most pirated movies of the year according to the piracy tracking firm Excipio. A few of them might surprise you.
