While Avengers: Infinity War should have pretty much every major MCU movie character involved in some way, The Defenders should be the same with every major Marvel/Netflix universe character. To that end, Deborah Ann Woll and Simone Missick were officially confirmed as the latest guests, on loan from Daredevil and Luke Cage.

The announcement was made in a 15 second video on the show's Twitter page, complete with a new tagline.

In addition to Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist joining together for this new crossover, their closest friends and allies are being brought in as well. Now they have Woll's Karen Page and Missick's Missy Knight in the fold, to go along with Daredevil's Foggy and Jessica Jones's Trish.

If Woll is a regular instead of a mere guest star, she would join Mike Colter as the only Marvel/Netflix actors to have been regulars on three shows, since she has The Punisher solo series lying ahead afterwards. In fact, Karen could be on both The Defenders and The Punisher before Daredevil Season 3 even starts, assuming she makes it that far. Given that Season 2 ended with Karen learning Matt Murdock's real identity, it seems she'll have a lot of time to process it before Season 3 airs.

Missick's schedule isn't so crowded, since Missy won't be a part of Iron Fist's first solo season before The Defenders premiere. Like with Luke Cage, she is in line to be the main guardian for legal law and order on The Defenders, as inadequate as it may continue to be.

Should Woll and Missick be needed for the first two episodes, they will both be directed by S.J. Clarkson. Since she directed two Jessica Jones Season 1 episodes, Clarkson hasn't gotten to film Karen or Missy yet, but the lines between Marvel/Netflix shows will be blurred in many ways with this show.

While casting and other key pieces of the puzzle are being filled in, The Defenders likely won't show them all together until summer 2017 at the earliest, if all goes well.
