When MTV announced that it was moving forward with the series Eye Candy, based on the R.L. Stine novel, many were surprised, especially because the network decided to replace nearly the entire cast from the original pilot presentation. Rather than announce it as a normal television series though, early word was that Eye Candy would be an “event series” for MTV, beginning and ending in a 10 episode arc that would solve the mysteries that began in the pilot.

As the show went on though, rumors began that MTV could be persuaded to give the show another season. With something of a cliffhanger ending to the last episode (likely an effort from the writers to give fans a reason to flock to MTV and ask for a renewal), major plot strings were left dangling, but Victoria Justice took to her twitter account so that viewers would hear the news about MTV not moving forward with the show from her first.

In her statement, Justice writes:

I wanted you guys to hear it from me first, that the cast and I received news that Eye Candy will not be returning for season 2.  Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson, is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart. I couldn't have asked for better cast mates to work with either.  They are the most down to earth, talented and kind souls that I am so happy to have met…

Fans of the cast won’t have to wait too long to see most of them in other projects though. Justice has The Outskirts and Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List set to hit theaters this year. Harvey Guillen has completed work on Aztec Warrior and Jimmy’s Jungle. Ryan Cooper filmed Digital Physics last year, though it’s still awaiting a release date. Kiersey Clemons has Dope up next, which will be in theaters in June.
