Gods of Egypt presented a rather radical reimagining of the ancient Egyptian Gods, and not just in casting Scottish Gerard Butler as the evilest one of all. Regardless of how people reacted to these changes and fantastical elements in theaters, audiences can take another look on DVD and Blu-ray this week.

Nonetheless, Gods of Egypt isn't the only new movie available to rent or buy on May 31 that reimagines old legends. The list also includes a drastic rewrite to Jane Austin's most beloved heroine, and a retelling of the story of one of America's great sports heroes.

Gods of Egypt

Summit Entertainment

An Egypt where Gods and man live together is being tyrannized by Butler's all-powerful god of darkness, leading a human thief to team up with a fallen God before Egypt and the entire world are lost forever.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Before he became director of The Flash movie and then stepped down, writer Seth Grahame-Smith made a name for himself by rewriting Pride and Prejudice to include zombies. Now the movie version has Lily James as an Elizabeth Bennet who both fiercely fends off marriage and a zombie invasion.

Focus Features

With the 2016 Olympics several weeks away, viewers can relive the struggles and triumphs that led Jesse Owens to make history at the 1936 Games in Berlin. Stephan James sprints as the fastest man alive, while Jason Sudeikis is his college coach.

Triple 9

Open Road Films

A daring heist is planned by corrupt Atlanta cop Anthony Mackie and his group of thieves, yet it centers around drawing the rest of the police away by killing Mackie's new partner Casey Affleck. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Gal Gadot and more make up the forces on both sides of the law.
