Doctor Strange is only the beginning of Benedict Cumberbatch's MCU tenure, which will continue into Avengers: Infinity War. Yet he won't be the only Benedict in Infinity War, just like he isn't the only one in Doctor Strange, as Benedict Wong revealed that the character Wong will follow Strange into the Infinity War as well.

Wong was asked by ComicBook.com about whether he would be in future MCU films, to which he answered "I'm thrilled I'm going to be in Infinity War....I'll tell you that one first." Although Stephen Strange is certain to have a greater command of his magic powers by Infinity War, it seems he still needs one of his mentors in Wong to come along as he meets the Avengers and Thanos.

Whether this means any other Doctor Strange characters will appear in Infinity War is unknown. Since the movie will already be packed to the brim with MCU characters, perhaps there are only so many that each franchise can spare. If Wong is assisting Strange in Infinity War, it could mean that Tilda Swinton's Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo are too busy to tag along themselves, or that they will be confirmed soon enough.

Ironically enough, Swinton just stated that she's been "dropping hints" to Kevin Feige about a prequel for the Ancient One. Given that Feige has been teasing Strange's importance for the rest of Phase 3 and Phase 4, his fellow sorcerers may get plenty of chances to return and reveal more of themselves alongside him. But at this moment, only Wong has his second MCU appearance locked down early, assuming the actor Wong didn't get ahead of himself.

The first team-up of Strange and Wong will be unveiled in Doctor Strange this Nov. 4, before they return together to fight the Infinity War on May 4, 2018.
