Seemingly every angle of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been analyzed to death, and the Batcave is the latest aspect of the film to go under the microscope.

Batman's hideout is focal point in two images recently unveiled by Entertainment Weekly. The first is a piece of concept art, which displays an expanded look at the cave complete with the Batmobile in the foreground.

The second image is that of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and his loyal butler (Jeremy Irons), well dressed and looking deep in thought at what appears to be the central technological hub of the Batcave.

The two Oscar winners also spoke with the magazine about their respective characters.

“[Batman] represents human beings, mortal men,” Affleck told the magazine. “In a world of Flashes and Aquamen and Supermen, there needs to be that guy. It’s interesting that he became the leader of the Justice League in the books — I’m not sure how that’ll play out here — but his humanity is also an asset,” he added.

“Alfred is a lot more hands-on in our film than he has previously been,” Irons said. “He’s a bit of a grease monkey, and he’s very involved in the decisions Bruce makes.”

It’ll be interesting to see what Irons means by “hands on” as Alfred has grown substantially as a character through various variations on the big screen with Michael Caine giving arguably the most depth to the character (and occasionally kicking butt, as he did in Batman Begins when he took out one of Ra’s al Ghul’s thugs with a golf club).

Based on the brief snippets of audio and video in the trailers, the dynamic between the two appears to be in line with that of Christian Bale’s Bruce and Caine’s Alfred from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. Hopefully the relationship will add similar gravitas to the picture.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016.
