Anna Camp, known for many for her comedic turns in television series The Mindy Project and musical movie Pitch Perfect, actually has a very diverse background in front of the camera, including roles in The Help and True Blood. Now, she’ll be stepping behind the camera for her new project Serpent’s Bite. Camp will act as a co-producer on the film in addition to starring in it.

This marks the very first time that Camp will act as a producer, but more familiar for her will be the part in front of the camera lens. She’ll star as Courtney Temple in the project, which is based on Warren Adler’s novel. The story follows a father as he tries to reconnect with his children while they engage in a horse trek through Yellowstone. It examines how ambition and a quest for celebrity can change someone’s personality.

Adler also penned The War of the Roses, which was adapted for the screen in 1989 with Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas.

There’s no word on when the film will go into production or when it’s expected to be ready for release. In fact, Camp is the only on attached to the project so far. If you’re looking to see Anna Camp on screen again, she’ll be reprising her role in the Pitch Perfect sequel out this weekend.
